APAC Alabama kicked off its 2026 summer internship program in Birmingham, welcoming three students for a summer of hands-on learning, leadership connection and real-world experience.
APAC Alabama opened its 2026 summer internship program on Thursday, May 28, with a kickoff event at our Birmingham office. The day gave this year’s interns a strong introduction to the company, our leaders and the work they will be part of throughout the summer.
The program began with welcome remarks from President Tom Hershberger, followed by sessions designed to help the interns understand our expectations, culture and approach to the business here at APAC Alabama. John Gaither led discussions on T5 and safety, Cy Nicholson provided an HR overview, and Wendy Pritchett, Karl Kleinbeck and Paul Albrecht shared details about training and development. The event closed with time for questions and conversation with the leadership team.
This summer, APAC Alabama interns will have the opportunity to learn beyond the classroom by stepping into real projects, active operations and day-to-day business functions. Through hands-on assignments and guidance from experienced team members, they will gain a closer look at how we support infrastructure, customers and communities across the state.
The 2026 intern class includes students from the University of Alabama and Auburn University, with areas of study ranging from operations management to building science. Each student will work with a manager and department team during the program, building practical experience while contributing to the work happening across APAC Alabama.
