APAC-Alabama has been recognized by the National Asphalt Pavement Association (NAPA) with a 2025 Quality in Construction (QIC) Award for excellence in asphalt pavement construction. The award was announced as part of NAPA’s 71st Annual Meeting, which brings together industry leaders to recognize outstanding paving projects nationwide.
“The asphalt pavement industry is resolute in its dedication to delivering projects of exceptional quality and performance for the traveling public,” said 2025 NAPA Chairman Pat Nelson. “Each project honored with a Quality in Construction Award is rigorously evaluated against the highest industry standards, reflecting an unwavering commitment to excellence.”
APAC-Alabama earned the QIC award for its work on County Road 518 in Coffee County, Alabama. The project involved micromilling 13 miles of the two-lane rural highway and placing a 2-inch asphalt overlay to restore ride quality and improve long-term performance. To enhance safety and roadway consistency, crews used a screed-mounted device to create a compacted wedge along the pavement edge, eliminating drop-offs while maintaining a smooth centerline match.
Sustainability was also a key component of the project. We incorporated reclaimed asphalt pavement (RAP) into the asphalt mixes, a practice that conserves natural resources, reduces emissions, minimizes landfill waste and contributes to pavement durability.
Through precise execution and attention to detail, we delivered a smooth, high-quality asphalt surface that improves travel for motorists along this rural corridor. The national recognition reflects our team’s commitment to quality construction and the consistent delivery of dependable roadway solutions across Alabama.
